Preamble to the Constitution |
| "We the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied population of Virginia Tech and the surrounding Blacksburg/Christiansburg region will work to promote an environment of equality, understanding, and harmony for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions by providing campus-wide programs to raise awareness, community visibility, and support."

Programs |
| The LGBTA offers a wide variety of events, films, special speakers, and other programs for all students, faculty, and members of the community. A general description of the largest events can be found here. |
Membership |
| Membership shall be open to all students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Virginia Tech as well as to all residents of the New River Valley. The LGBTA shall not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity and expression, disability, age, veteran status, or political affiliation. |
Meetings |
| Meetings will be held weekly, unless canceled, in the Multicultural Center of Squires on the first floor. They will take place at 8:00pm on Thursdays and last until approximately 9:00pm. Afterwards, members are welcome to stay and socialize with others. |
Support Group |
| Support Group is an event where people come together to talk about their personal issues or concerns. This group is not connected to the LGBTA in any way except for that the LGBTA reserves rooms for the group meetings. These persons who attend are not required to give out their name or any personal information and may create an alias if desired. Any conversations or comments made in Support Group are completely confidential.
Support Group meets on Mondays at 8:00pm in room 300 in Squires unless otherwise notified. |
